DESCRIPTION

The master cylinder pressure sensor is built into the VSC actuator.

When any of the following conditions are detected:

  1. When malfunction occurs during pressure sensor initial check.
  2. When signal value is out of range.
  3. When zero point calibration value is out of range.
  • Master cylinder pressure sensor
  • Master cylinder pressure sensor circuit

Detected only during test mode.
  • Master cylinder pressure sensor
  • Master cylinder pressure sensor circuit
  • Stop light switch circuit
  • VSC actuator (skid control ECU)

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:

When replacing the VSC actuator assembly, perform the zero point calibration BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: CALIBRATION (2008 Sequoia) .

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK BRAKE PEDAL

(a) Check if the brake pedal is spongy.

OK:

The brake pedal is normal.

OK

2.

PERFORM TEST MODE PROCEDURE (MASTER CYLINDER PRESSURE SENSOR)

(a) Perform the test mode procedure BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: TEST MODE PROCEDURE (2008 Sequoia) .

(b) Check if the test mode procedure (master cylinder pressure sensor) is finished successfully.

REPLACE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Replace the brake booster BRAKE SYSTEM (OTHER): BRAKE BOOSTER: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia) .

RECONFIRM DTC

(a) Clear the DTC BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR (2008 Sequoia) .

(b) Turn the ignition switch off.

(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and check if the same DTC is stored in the memory BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR (2008 Sequoia) .
